COACHING TEAM

We’ve built a high-performance team with purpose, combining academy coaches and external specialists to maximise athlete development.

Director of Cricket

Head coach and leader of all player development, high-performance planning, and direct communication.

Trent Weir founded the Tamworth Cricket Academy in 2025 to meet the growing demand for structured, high-performance player development in regional NSW. A Level 2 Cricket Australia accredited coach and former NSW U17 and U19 representative, he has coached across the NSW Male and Female Pathways, as well as the Central North and Northern Inland academies. As Director of Cricket, he oversees all training and development programs, designs high-performance sessions, leads communication with parents, and manages the Player Progress Tracking for every athlete.

ACADEMY COACHES

Support the Director of Cricket and facilitate high-performance sessions with a focus on technique and skill execution.

Bryan Warren

NSW CHS Girls Championship Coach and former Central North representative player, Bryan is one of Tamworth’s most promising young coaches. His leadership within the CHS system and passion for player development makes him a great asset to the academy.

Sam Davis

A NSW Country U17s squad member and AW Green Shield player, Sam has years of exposure to NSW youth pathways and high-performance programs. He is a very well respected and influential figure in junior cricket.

Richie O'Halloran

Hayden Baker

A leading wicket-taker in Tamworth and a regional representative for both the Bolters and Central North. Hayden’s professionalism, preparation, and commitment to development make him perfectly suited to his part-time role at the academy.
